Dynamics 365 Business Central: Warehouse Management Part 17, Inventory Movements

Dynamics 365 Business Central: Warehouse Management Part 17, Inventory Movements

All right, so now we're in the South warehouse, which has inventory picks, and inventory put-away, no receipt, no shipment. The directed put-away is not checked. Let's take a look at how we do movements in that. We have to look at internal movements, which is a different screen that the movement worksheet that we did before, just so we know how to move between a bin in the inventory pick and put-away location. We actually really should put a different name for these scenarios. Maybe I'll create one one day, but hopefully you know what I'm talking about. Let's take a look at the system.

Okay, so how do we actually do a movement when we have require pick, and require put-away, and not the directed put-away checked. If I go here into inventory or internal movements, like so, and create a new one. I just go ahead and just give it a number. I don't think I have a number series for it. I'll just pick an item. I'll pick the item 1001 in storage 1. I want to move that to storage 2 and just do 25.

Now, I can go ahead and create an inventory movement. That creates inventory movement activity. Let's go ahead and take a look at that. Now, I'm actually in the South location in this one. It's different than the North location. Inventory movements – let's just go ahead and look for movements, like so, inventory movements. You have all these: movement worksheet, inventory movement, internal movement. There's different things that you use for different scenarios.

I'm going to go into inventory movement. We created this one here for the South, go right into that. I'm sorry, not this one; this one. We can see that now it's creating an inventory movement just like we created from the worksheet. It's basically an activity. I can go ahead and register this movement by just going into movements – actually process. Autofill quantity to handle, so the quantity to handle gets filled out. Then register the inventory movement. Now, we've actually moved the inventory.
