Dynamics 365 Business Central: Take 5 Interview w/ Kerry Rosvold

Dynamics 365 Business Central: Take 5 Interview w/ Kerry Rosvold

Hello, we are here with Kerry Rosvold she is the owner of New View Strategies and we are excited to have her here, she is an extremely active person in our industry and has been for a long time, she has six sessions, which is insane. You have probably seen her in training sessions she is heading at most for the university at Inecta, but we kind of wanted to get a few opinions about Business Central.

Johannes: What do you think about Business central?

Kerry: Business central has just up the game by making the software have more appeal to a wider audience, I think just the user interface alone, where it's more modern, it looks pretty. It’s easy to navigate.  It’s certainly more efficient. And I think people are going to adapt it at a faster rate because it can compete with other products on the market.

Johannes: The whole upgrade thing

Kerry: Absolutely, the move to lock down the code base and be able to do that in a way that is sustainable. It's like A whole big community restructure, where Microsoft did a great job. Saying this is a huge problem and fix it.  It makes some people uncomfortable, but change is always uncomfortable and we’ll all make the change and honestly is better for everybody.

Johannes:  You are the expert in making changes easy.

Kerry: Absolutely, I was talking, every class that I have, the reason we teach about efficiently retraining is that you waste a lot of time at your job doing inefficient things and then that means you have to stay at work late, stay on the weekends. My goal is the make people more efficient so that they can leave their jobs a reasonable time every day and go home and have a life. Everybody is happier when that’s what they are accomplishing.

Johannes:  is this what you love? training? your passion? Making complicated easy to understand

Kerry: Absolutely

Johannes: How many training sessions do you do a year?

Kerry: Well I don’t know if I can quantify that, because we do so many in different formats, it’s hard to tell all of them, we do things at the university with Inecta, we teach with NAVUG academy, we do lots of webinars, we work with customers as well as their partners.

Johannes: You do six here, so it could be 3 t 5 hundred.

Kerry: I might be shocked at the number.

Johannes: It seems like you are extremely active, you are one of the most active people that I've known in the industry, you are always top of the list in every user groups, summit.

Kerry: Thank you, I enjoy it. Getting in front of a really big group of people and see the light bulbs go on and people say, I didn’t know that thing, it might be something that they did had training in the past, but they just forgot. We as an adult learner we all need freshers training so that we can remember things that we forgot.  Repetition and that refresh retrain make a big difference in the professional arena.

Intriguing Questions
We do have five questions we ask everyone, have nothing to do with technology or NAV. It's just fun.

Johannes: For orange juice, pulp r no pulp?

Kerry: Pulp, in fact, if I can buy the one that says most pulp, that’s my favorite.

You could go for an orange,

Kerry: I do eat a lot of oranges, that’s probably why.

Johannes: Last move you say that you couldn’t stand. That was the worst.

Kerry: Wow, the last movie that I couldn't stand, I don’t know, it was some horror flick about piranhas, and I’m usually a kind of a horror thriller fan but this one was so badly done, and it had so bad production that I left.

Johannes: What’s in your pockets right now?

Kerry:  In my pockets right now? my phone and cough drop and Chapstick and my hotel key.

Johannes: What's is your go-to song, to sing in the shower.

Kerry: Megan trainers me too, if I need a little bump in my day

Johannes: Beatles or Rolling Stones

Kerry: Oh boy! that is tough. Because they are both really good, people can be very polarizing but to be fair I guess I’ll choose the Beatles.

Johannes: Sometimes you can spot people Beatles or Rolling stones from a mile away.

This was awesome, thanks for coming and joining us.
