Dynamics 365 Business Central: April '19 Release Notes
Hey guys so we're in late January and Microsoft released a few days ago the release notes for the April update that's coming up.
You can go onto Microsoft website, take a look at what's going on. I have it up here so there's an April release overview and there's a PDF document that actually talks about all the releases in 365.
If I bring that document up, it's a 315-page document, like I said it goes over everything like Power BI flow and of course Business Central and a lot of other things.
I've scrolled here over to the Business Central section which is on page 159, and just going over the highlight of what they're talking about, one of the things from a technical aspect is that Microsoft, when they actually delivered Business Central, they've delivered it like one app in one extension so it converted the CL code if you're technical to AL code, all of it through a conversion. Today they're going to start kind of separating it all out and building things as apps inside Business Central, so you can break up the base system which is pretty good.
Another highlight is that AI is still a major focus, you can see right in the beginning of the document it goes into data and AI, data is everything. They want to move the data into a common data platform so that they can use the data everywhere within the cloud over all applications and that's of course geared towards AI being the key that the future is going to be all about data and how AI uses that data to do the things for us, so we can direct the AI. Very exciting future they're thinking way ahead which is cool.
Of course, it goes into the little guys, you know the little details, like application enhancements you know with list views, rich notes and links, document focus modes, you know all kinds of things in here very very interesting, really cool additions that are coming out and there's lots of them. I encourage you rather than me naming everything that's going on here, I encourage you to just go and check out this document, like I said it's huge, it's a lot of changes.
Also, to me it sets the stage to how Microsoft is going to be updating their products, they're sending out this big document with everything they're going to release in April. It's only a few months away. Some of them are going to be released mid-April, some of them a little bit after April but at least it's detailed in this document and you know what's coming and quickly glancing over it, I really like the changes that they're moving towards and it's obvious that they have a strong back-end of developers and system designers and smart people in general, just making sure that this these products are all jiving the best they can.
So, go on the website check out the document, you know it makes for a good reading before going to bed, 350 pages you can do that in an hour or so right well anyways thank you for watching tune in next time.
