Dynamics 365 Business Central: October 2019 Updates, part 1

Dynamics 365 Business Central: October 2019 Updates, part 1:

Hey, everyone, we're back in New York so hopefully back on track releasing two a week. What I wanted to go through today was that there was an announcement from Microsoft from last month, late last month, about what to expect in the October update. I don't think it's the complete review, but let's take a look at the screen and go over how that looks and try to mete out some of the details. Anyway, let's take a look.

Okay, so if you go into What's new and planned for Microsoft or Dynamics 365 Business Central, this is actually published at the end of June, so a few days ago. It lists features that are planned to release from October, 2019 to March, 2020. This document I think is a little bit live. They are updating it regularly. You can basically just be coming in here and seeing what they're adding. I notice that the application enhancements are not that many, which is a little disappointing and they're very minor. If you go a little bit further down, you see that the modern client enhancement – so the actual client is getting dramatically enhanced. That is pretty interesting. Here you have links to your navigation menu, enhancement to Excel integration, so even further, general use or experience adjustments, powerful filtering for reports. They're basically doing a lot of, I would say, baseline work on the modern client, so not focusing as much on the application itself.

Now, this is a live document, seems to be, so I think it was actually updated recently, so this is the latest update. There might be more coming, but they're, of course, adding with developer tools and they're doing some service enhancements, the background stuff, but not as much as I can see here in the application itself. Maybe they're looking for partners to publish apps to do that. Who knows?

Anyways, this is great to see. This is the Wave 2 document, so here we have 2019 release, Wave 2 plan. I guess they have two waves, a spring wave and the fall wave. You can get in here to get full details.
