A nice typing shortcut in NAV
Tagged Under : NAV keyboard shortcut
When typing into a field with a table relation, i.e. No. in Sales Line, you can use *XXXX where the star is the usual anything in front. Moreover you can use the ? indicating only one wild character, i.e. ?XXXX.
This is useful when part numbers have zeros in front, i.e. 000900. You can just type *900. I personally never remember how many zeros there are.
This seem like an awful simple tip that everyone would know, but it is amazing how many such tips escape us. Sometimes simplicity is blotted out by complexity.

In any text field (description, name etc) you can retrieve standard text values by using the question mark.
If you enter a ? And press enter a lookip into the standard text will show. If you create a standard text - say VM, with a description of ‘Called, left voice message’ you can on the custumer comments do a ?VM, press enter and it will be transformed into ‘Called, left voice message’
I didn’t know about this one.
Thanks for the post!
