Lost in The Cloud

There’s an interesting article about the state of cloud computing. It discusses the pros and cons of using cloud computing and the next generation computing platform.

Pros:

- Run code and store your infromation outside of your pc
- Avoid catastrophe when your laptop is lost or stolen, all your info is in the cloud
- Ability to share and interact with information through Facebook, MySpace or Twitter

Cons

- You must entrust your data to others
- Data stored online has less privacy protection
- Online identity theft is a very real danger
-  Thanks to the Patriot Act, the government is able to access details of your online activities, without your knowledge.

There certainly are some hurdles to overcome in using cloud computing. With some effort, these problems could be resolved, in order to take advantage of it’s overwhelming potential.
